Applications

Nylon tubing is extremely versatile and is a smart choice for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Hydraulic hoses
  • Robotics
  • Vacuum lines
  • Fuel lines
  • Vapor lines
  • Air lines
  • Brake lines
  • Oil processing lines
  • Tool lubricating systems
  • Chemical processing lines

Features and Benefits of Nylon Tubing

Resistance to stress-cracking – Nylon tubing resists stress-cracking thanks to UV stabilization, which means it can be used in direct sunlight and in warm states like California and Arizona.

Lightweight wall – When every ounce matters, choose tubing that is lightweight.

Smaller bend radius – With a smaller bend radius than other types of tubing, nylon tubes have better flexibility and can fit into complex designs.

Corrosion resistance – Nylon tubing is a good option for any application that involves salt water, chemicals or other corrosive properties.

  • Chemical resistance
  • Solvents
  • Alkalies
  • Oils
  • Grease
  • Petroleum
  • Fungus
  • Mold

History of Nylon Tubing

Scientists at DuPont invented nylon in 1931. Nylon was heralded as “the miracle fiber” because, unlike previously manufactured fibers, early nylon was synthesized entirely from petrochemicals. Like other polymers, its first major commercialization came as a textile. DuPont never registered the trademark for nylon, instead hoping that the name would become synonymous with “stockings.”*
